The Temple's Chanting Team, nicknamed affectionately as "the Black Robes" are devout followers of the Buddhist religion who assist the monks with reciting and chanting during large festivals as well as funeral services.

Their service is voluntary and they are highly valued by the Temple and the ACBS for their consistent hard work. Although not part of their job, their presence at funerals often leads them to providing some emotional support for the families of the deceased.
