GUAN DI GONG TEMPLE / LORD GUAN'S TEMPLE
- THE GOD OF WAR

This is a lay person's temple for the venerated General Lord Guan Yu.

Guan Yu was one of China's most legendary generals; a fearless warrior with unmatched martial skills, serving under his sworn brother Emperor Liu Bei during the latter Han Dynasty and the Three Kingdoms Period.

His extreme loyalty and righteousness led many emperors in the

later dynasties to bestow saintly titles on him.

In Taoism he is regarded as the leading subduer of demons.

In Chinese Buddhism he is known as Qie Lan Pu Sa or Sangharama Boddhisattva, protector of Buddhist Dharma.

Lord Guan is worshipped by many business people as they believe

that practicing his teachings will help their business flourish. He is also

worshipped as the Patron Saint of the Police.
